5 Rules for Affordable Apartment Design

We all at some point or another felt frustrated with our apartments. Should I decorate it?  Should I wait till I buy a house? What if I move somewhere else? Can I afford it? Is it worth it?
All these questions and much more will rise, and this is more than logical.
We live in uncertain times, and most of us have to think about mortgage, school, daycare, and tons of other details before thinking about the luxury of home decor.

Well, you don't have to go through all this…
Here are 5 rules that would transform your space to you dream home and still be light on your wallet:

1- Keep an eye out and wait:
Don't get too exited and buy everything you stumble upon, just take a deep breath and wait.
Almost every week a lot of galleries and stores have sale items, so check your favorite stores regularly, because you don't want to buy something that will go on sale tomorrow.

2- Go Online:
We are the Online Generation, so we might as well use it here. There is several home decor websites with amazing deals and clearance. Joss & Main and One Kings Lane are a good example of these websites. You can save Sometimes more than 50% buying there.
Check my "Great Catch" articles for sale items every other day.

3- Go Neutral:
No matter what style and colours you like, keep  the main pieces simple and neutral.
Add a few accent items only, this will allow you later on to change the style if needed to, with minimum cost.
If you are living in a rental home, don't buy furniture that might not fit if you moved, like  console tables and custom libraries. Instead use shelves, mirrors, and paintings  to decorate entry halls and other corners in you home.
Another great idea for neutral decoration is greenery. Adding a bonsai tree or an orchid will give your room style that will go with almost anything.

4- Do It Yourself:
Get crafty, you can't imagine how much money you can save by doing some things on your own.
Abstract paintings, painted vases, woven rugs and a lot of other ideas you can find on Pinterst and it can be easily made.

5- Be a Copy Cat:
Designer brands can be tempting sometimes, but you can find a lot of similar products in other affordable stores.  You can design a room with 20,000$ or you can design it with less than a 1000$ using stores like Ikea and Target.

Hope this helped you guys.
I will be posting soon "Living and dining room design under 1000$ " stay tuned!
